چکیده
Salinity is an important problem for agriculture in the Mediterranean area, and thus, it essential to develop mitigation strategies reduce its impact. The main objective of this study was test effectiveness halotolerant plant growth-promoting bacteria (H-PGPB) improving grapevine salt stress tolerance. Grapevines grafted onto a salt-sensitive rootstock were inoculated with consortium H-PGPB. substrate half plants each treatment salinized up 2 dS m−1. Plants grew six days under these conditions, afterward, NaCl removed assess recovery through growth, physiology, canopy temperature measurements. Inoculation H-PGPB had positive effect on but after treatment, grapevines stopped their photosynthetic metabolism, leading severe defoliation. Remarkably, removal, re-sprouted faster, demonstrating that inoculation could be good practice increase vineyard resilience stress.

The use of internal nitrogen stores in the rhizomatous grass Calamagrostis epigejos during regrowth after defoliation.
BACKGROUND AND AIMS The regrowth dynamics after defoliation of the invasive grass Calamagrostis epigejos were studied. As nitrogen (N) reserves have been shown to play an important role during plant regrowth, the identity, location and relative importance for regrowth of N stores were determined in this rhizomatous grass. METHODS Plant growth, nitrate uptake and root respiration were followed...

متن کاملSalt Stress Induced Changes in the Exoproteome of the Halotolerant Bacterium Tistlia consotensis Deciphered by Proteogenomics
The ability of bacteria to adapt to external osmotic changes is fundamental for their survival. Halotolerant microorganisms, such as Tistlia consotensis, have to cope with continuous fluctuations in the salinity of their natural environments which require effective adaptation strategies against salt stress. Changes of extracellular protein profiles from Tistlia consotensis in conditions of low ...
متن کاملMetabolic flux response to salt-induced stress in the halotolerant yeast Debaryomyces hansenii.
The toxic effect of NaCl and KCl on growth of the marine yeast Debaryomyces hansenii on glucose or glycerol was studied. Above a threshold value, both salts reduced the specific growth rate, specific glucose and glycerol respiration rates and specific glucose fermentation rate, as well as biomass yields. The exponential inhibition constant, k, and minimum toxic concentration, Cmin were similar ...
متن کاملHalotolerant Rhizobacteria Promote Growth and Enhance Salinity Tolerance in Peanut
Use of Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) is a promising strategy to improve the crop production under optimal or sub-optimal conditions. In the present study, five diazotrophic salt tolerant bacteria were isolated from the roots of a halophyte, Arthrocnemum indicum. The isolates were partially characterized in vitro for plant growth promoting traits and evaluated for their potential t...
